Based on 306 reviewsSouth Bound Again is widely recognized for its inviting, rustic southern bar atmosphere paired with outstanding service that creates memorable customer experiences. Patrons frequently highlight the exceptional quality and variety of wings, particularly noting the distinct dry and wet flavors alongside housemade blue cheese. The food offerings extend beyond wings, featuring creative appetizers and burgers that receive positive remarks for taste and freshness. The bar staff’s attentiveness and friendly demeanor contribute significantly to customer satisfaction. While the location's history intrigues some visitors, the consistently praised daily specials and drinks menu, including non-alcoholic options, enhance its appeal. Overall, South Bound Again is seen as a standout destination for those seeking flavorful dishes in a welcoming setting.
We weren’t quite sure what we were walking into. I think this place was a liquor store back in the day. But once you walk inside it is like an old rustic southern bar. The service was outstanding and the food we tried were really good. The maple dry rubbed wings you could smell across the bar before we even received them. Keep up the great work!
Upon entering and looking for two seats by the bar, Melissa (forgive me if I got her name wrong), the bartender, helped to open two chairs up. She was super informative, never pushy, patient, kind, and really made my experience memorable. I sought this place out because I love spicy wings. They have an incredible selection of dry and wet flavors. I chose their hot-hot and the habanero mango flavors. The wings are very large (not those dinky ones), grilled, and tossed in the sauce! The Hot hot wings were AWESOME! They left a little warmth on the lips that could be transferred to unsuspecting recipients of kisses, lol.The vibe here was ultra friendly, and the liquor pours were generous. All the menu items were fairly priced for the quality and quantity in comparison to other places I have visited. I am looking forward to returning to try their hamburgers and potstickers!
We had the Reuben Roll appetizers, Big Bucket Burger, & Grilled Mother Clucker (I really like saying Mother Clucker lol). The food tasted great & the service was also great. My wife had a combination of a Happy Thursday & a mixed drink & I had a couple NA beers. We definitely recommend checking out South Bound Again & we can't wait to go back again.
You will be hard-pressed to find better chicken wings in the area! Fresh, delicious, juicy, grilled, variety of flavors; absolute wing haven in the middle of a wing desert. To top it off, the blue cheese is house-made and on-point! Do not waste your time with any of the chain restaurants, they won’t even come close! I guess they have pretty good daily specials as well.
I like em because it’s close and I like it because I like wings and my captn coke and I like being an alcoholic, also here’s an up to date menu.
Great food, loved the Tuesday night wing special. Staff was attentive and social. Best wings I've had in a long time!
We had the half pound smoked brisket sandwich and they did not disappoint. Great food. We will be back to try more. My only disappointment was not having premium soda. I feel every bar should have Coke or Pepsi or both. I am not a fan of off brand cola's.UPDATE: We try to get here as much as we can. The people are great as is the food. Tom rocks the food out. The wings TOTALLY ROCK and the taco's are great too. We had chicken and beef taco's.
Love this place. It's a real country music bar. The ducks add a real ambiance. Cool that you could get the fish fry grilled and spicy.
